Today’s Gem of Gratitude #357

Today I am thankful for my body, because it is the only one that I have. And sure, now that I am getting a little older my body does things that occasionally surprise me. But that does not change the fact that my body is a tremendous gift to me – it is uniquely mine, healthy, stylish, and resilient beyond measure. I have put my body through some tough situations (especially when I was a kid given the fact that I was a major tomboy), yet it has never given up or out on me. And for that I am eternally thankful.

Now, like most of us, there are some things that I could and should do in order to take better care of my body, and I am in the process of taking the necessary steps in order to do that. And as I continue on this wonderful journey of living life to the fullest, I will make it a point to demonstrate my gratitude daily to this magnificent body that the core of me calls home, no matter the way that it looks, feels, maneuvers, and ages, because at the end of the day I still have it and it still has me, and we make an excellent team. #lovebythedrop

Today I am thankful for makeovers, be they clothes-related, personality-related, or even life-related. Sometimes, instead of needing a “do-over” we need a “do-with-a-new-sense-of-flair.” Sometimes, it’s less about what we do than how we do it. And, at times, what is required in order to positively adjust the “how” is not really that much at all – the purchase of a new outfit, the adoption of a new perspective, the adherence to determination to make a step forward. Sometimes, a slight maneuver is all that is needed in order to bring us face-to-face with our new selves, and my how we shine. #lovebythedrop

Today I am thankful for flat-heeled shoes. Though I thoroughly enjoy stilettos and just about every other type of heeled shoe that there is and I often wear heels, I am not without appreciation for shoes that are lacking in the heel department. Let’s face it, sometimes my feet need a little break from the pressures that are associated with wearing heels, especially when I find myself needing to walk for significant distances or stand for lengthy periods of time. That’s why I make it a point to keep at least a few pairs of flat-heeled shoes in my wardrobe. After all, I need thoughtful breaks when I work, why should it be any different for my feet? #lovebythedrop
