Today I am thankful for dogs. And, no, I am not referring to the human variety. There is something so therapeutic and infectious about the loving nature of dogs. They magically know exactly how you are feeling and what it will take to give you temporary comfort. They sense when you need affection, a listening ear, or when you just need to cuddle. They do not judge you, have expectations of you, use you, or abuse you. They just want you to be there. And even if the two of you have a disagreement – she wants to have a doggy field day with your clean laundry because it would be so fun to throw your towels, clothes, and bed linen all about the house, but you are not as enthusiastic about that idea as she is – she still runs over to where you are sitting and lays her head on your leg with a look in her eyes that says, “you know I love you, don’t you?” How could that not warm your heart?
I was blessed to have three of the cutest and sweetest dogs to ever grace this planet. They were little angels sent here to bless me and my family, and I was fortunate to have the opportunity to pour a lot of love into their lives as well. They will always be missed.
I hope that at some point in your life you have the opportunity to experience the unconditional love of a dog (maybe more than one if you are up for it). If you already know the wonders of sharing time and space with a dog, please share your thoughts with me. And as always, be blessed. #lovebythedrop
