Today’s Gem of Gratitude #130

Today I am thankful for candles. After a long, hard day of living life I enjoy coming home to a peaceful, organized home that is clean, and the air in which is the perfect temperature for me be it summer, fall, winter, or spring. And no matter what time of year it is, what my plans for the evening are, and what I need to do in order to prepare for the next day’s activities, one of the first things that I like to do when I arrive home is light a scented candle and allow my cares from that day to diffuse into the air just like the smoke from that candle.

“Why the preference for scented candles?” you might ask. Come to think of it, I do not really know why I prefer scented candles to unscented ones other than the sheer fact that the scented ones smell good. So, in my opinion, I am killing two birds with one stone, so to speak, in that I am able to enjoy the peaceful glow emitted from the candle’s flame, and I am also able to add a pleasant aroma to the air at the same time. And who does not enjoy a gently lit, great smelling space? I know that I sure do.

One of the things that I appreciate the most about candles is the fact that they have the ability to instantly make me feel better, positively affect my mood, and immediately bless my domain with a fresh and comfortable ambiance that just screams “it’s time to relax now, go ahead and let your hair down.” And what’s even more wonderful is the fact that candles do all of this without even putting a scratch, let alone a dent, in my budget.

They provide ambiance, make me feel good, and do not break my budget. What am I waiting for? I know there’s a candle here eagerly waiting for me to give it a little tender loving care, and I am more than happy to oblige it. Here’s to peaceful lighting and sweet aromas that envelop you, invite you to relax, kick your feet up, and allow the events of the day to unassumingly melt away. #lovebythedrop
