Today I am thankful for moments of rest and relaxation. As busy as life can become at times it is good to schedule a few moments of rest and relaxation. And like many of us I am guilty of not scheduling those moments as often as I should; there always seems to be something else that needs to be taken care of, something else that cannot wait until later.
And I often tell myself things like “after I finish this project I will treat myself to a spa day,” or “I will go to the movies once the demands on my schedule lighten up some.” I tell myself these things knowing full well that the longer that I wait to allow myself to rest and relax the more likely it is that I will not take those moments for myself.
I have spent so much of my life running myself ragged that taking the time to regularly treat myself to moments of rest and relaxation is absolutely essential. So much so that I am trying to make it a point to incorporate those types of moments into my schedule on a regular basis, whether it means taking the time to go and see a movie, go to the spa, take a road trip, or spend an evening reading an interesting book.
And I may not always have lots of time and resources available, but what matters is that I allow my creativity to kick in and transform those special moments into restful and relaxing adventures. How do you choose to rest and relax? #lovebythedrop
