Today’s Gem of Insight #166

Today’s insight journey led me to the idea that plants are your friend. I like plants and always have, but I will admit that I’m not a fan of having to water and tend to them on a regular basis. Most plants, at least the ones that I’ve come into contact with, don’t seem to require much, but at times, the little that they do require feels like a burden, as though those cute little plants are wearing out their welcome.

But, as we’ve talked about before, anything worth having is worth the work that is needed to have it and maintain it. It’s funny, I’ve been attending to some plants that belong to a loved one of mine. That person really likes plants. I think you pretty much already know where I stand on the subject. But, in taking care of those plants, I’ve found myself popping over to check on them periodically, looking for new blooms, wondering if they would like a bit more water, sunlight. I’ve even named a couple of them. Shh, don’t tell anyone. Remember, this is a no-judgment zone…LOL.

Those little plants, each one so different from the next, have all grown on me. No pun intended. Now, it’s as though they’re as much my plants as they are my loved one’s. I would say the plants are a bit sneaky like that, but they’re too cute to be sneaky.

And of course, plants offer many benefits to humans, like increasing the amount of oxygen in the environment, enhancing one’s mood, purifying the air, increasing humidity, and reducing stress. Not bad for those cute little buggers, huh?

So, the next time that you’re feeling a little stressed out or maybe you just want a little extra ambiance, give a plant a try. You just might come to like it too. Be blessed. #lovebythedrop

  1. I totally agree with you about plants. 🪴 They have a way of drawing you in and keep you going back to check on them and wish them well in their growth cycle. No complaints when you forget them except a brown leaf or two to remind you of your neglect. Caring for someone or something can be therapeutic. I enjoy watching my plants develop! 🎊🪴🎉
