Today I am thankful for patience. Patience is one of those things that many people say that they want, but don’t really realize what it takes to obtain it. Patience is not something that you are just given. It is not something that you can buy, barter for, exchange, or procure. Patience can only be obtained through experiences that require you to be patient. In other words, a person becomes patient by being patient. And that is what can make becoming a patient person such a challenge, because without actively choosing to be patient, especially during challenging situations, it is virtually impossible to become a patient person.
Many people try to be patient, and they may experience some semblance of success in that regard for a while, but when situations become more challenging they tend to lose patience with being patient. The key is to push through those challenging situations by determining that no matter what occurs you will not cease to be patient. And the more that you insist on being patient the greater level of patience you will ultimately exhibit.
I truly believe that this is something that we all have to work at, myself included. For those of you who are actively working on becoming more patient, hang in there and don’t give up; the pursuit of patience is always a good thing. To those who have yet to jump on the patience bandwagon, you have no idea what you are missing out on; the pursuit of patience, though often a challenge, leads to living a life of greater quality that usually includes having higher quality relationships and life experiences. #lovebythedrop
