Today’s Gem of Gratitude #143

Today I am thankful for theatrical productions. There is something awe inspiring and engaging about theatrical productions. Not only does the audience have the benefit of watching an interesting story play out right before their eyes, but the intimate setting allows the audience to feel as though they are an actual part of the production. And that inclusion often leaves the audience floating on a sense of euphoria.

That precise concept is what I experienced when I went to see the theatrical production of the Lion King some years ago. I remember being so excited about attending that show that the day of the show could not arrive soon enough. And when the day of the show finally arrived I could hardly contain my sense of excitement. And when the show opened, the music started, and characters began appearing, I felt like a giddy little school girl who had just been asked by the boy of her dreams to accompany him to the prom.

It was absolutely, by far, the most beautiful production that I have ever seen. And I have never really been a person who enjoys musicals – for whatever reason they just have not been of interest to me – but this one touched my heart. And in some ways it breathed new life into me. In fact, it made such a lasting impression on me that I plan to go see it again in the near future, and the excitement is building already. #lovebythedrop
