Today’s insight journey led me to the idea that there is no better version of you than your authentic self. In a world where we are often told, through the media, strangers, and even friends and family, that we should look a certain way, follow a certain course of action, or behave a certain way, it can be easy for us to lose sight of who we truly are as a person, or fail to even reach the point where we ever know who we truly are.
Now my guess is that the majority of the people in our lives who give us advice regarding what we should do, how we should look, etc. are probably well-meaning individuals who want the best for us. So, it is important for us to keep this in mind when we consider the advice that they offer to us, just as we should also consider the source when processing the “advice” presented to us by the media and other strangers.
Some of the ideas that others extend to us may be good for us, just as some ideas may be entirely inappropriate for us. This is why, as we consider the many tips and recommendations that we receive from others concerning personal aspects of us, we need to ensure that we are keeping in mind the importance of being our authentic self. After all, just because advice is good does not automatically make it good for us. Be blessed! #lovebythedrop
