Today I am thankful for the opportunity to get to know myself more and more with the passing of each day. Like so many of us I occasionally become so caught up in what is going on in my life that months and months can go by without me giving serious consideration to the progress that I have made and the ways in which I am changing.
Thankfully, though, periodically something causes me to stop in my tracks and take stock of my life, who I have become, and where I am heading. Sometimes I am happy with the progress that I am making, with who I have become, and sometimes I am not. And whatever the case may be I try to find a way to appreciate whatever the reality of things is and remind myself that I can (and will) work on anything that needs work.
Taking these moments to evaluate life, who I am, and my progress in life helps me to grow and mature, to resist any temptation become prideful, and to encourage and motivate myself to keep moving forward. And the things that I learn about myself during these moments of introspection are items that often return to my mind when I am experiencing challenging times, and serve as sources of motivation to make it through those tough situations.
Though it would be ideal to take time to evaluate myself and life on a daily basis, taking the time to do so periodically is a good start. How often and in what ways do you evaluate yourself and your life? #lovebythedrop
