Today I am thankful for the movie The Holiday, a movie that always reminds me to be the leading lady in my life. In fact, one of my absolute favorite parts of the film is when Arthur, an elderly gentleman writer for the golden era of Hollywood tells Kate Winslet’s character, Iris, that in Hollywood there are leading ladies and then there are best friends, and that she is certainly a leading lady who unfortunately happens to be acting like the best friend.
Unfortunately, I have come to realize that I can completely relate to the sentiment behind those words, and that every time that I watch that film I still find myself relating to it. On the fortunate side of things, though, it immediately reminds me to get myself back in gear just as a leading lady should. And then I smile and I take that step back into my starring role. #lovebythedrop
