Today I am thankful for great views. Have you ever just found yourself staring out of a window of a high-rise building taking in the sprawling expanse that seems to go on and on as far as the eye can see? I know that I certainly have. And on occasion, I have lingered in situations like that for hours on end, simply enjoying the peace and quiet while wondering various things about the people who are out there and the lives that they are living.
I think that one of my favorite aspects that I associate with this particular activity is the freedom to imagine what is going on out there in that vast world that is unfolding on the other side of that window. I wonder about the many vehicles that I see maneuvering on the roadways, the teeny tiny people whom I spot running to catch a taxi, jaywalking while talking on their cellular phones, or conversing with friends. I consider the myriad of possibilities that could potentially be in the works for them, the next series of destinations that they will reach on their own personal highways in this journey that we call life.
I am intrigued by the visual representations in brick, stone, metal, and glass of the artistic minds of architects that oftentimes dominate the views from that solitary window. And I am humbled even more by the fact that we have all been fashioned in such a way that allows us to fit together perfectly, and maybe, just maybe, one day we will see that, which will in turn allow us to see ourselves for the very first time. #lovebythedrop
