Today’s Gem of Gratitude #246 – Happy Valentine’s Day!

Today I am thankful for the ability to express love. Many people choose to focus on the expression of romantic love on this day, and that certainly is a good thing. After all, who does not enjoy being the recipient of romantic love? But truthfully, love exists in so many forms, all of which should be celebrated on a day like today, and, when you think about it, everyday of the year. So in the spirit of that idea, I encourage every one of us to think about  each of the various types of love that exist in our lives and the special individuals who are the recipients of that love. And it is my hope that, whether we call them, send them a text, e-mail, audio, or video message, or pay them a visit, we demonstrate to them in a manner that goes beyond typical verbal measures how much we care for them and how much they mean to us. And may we always remember that Valentine’s Day is not a day that is solely reserved for the celebration of romantic love, and people who are single should not be made to feel as though they are less important than those who form part of a romantic pairing, because at the end of the day we are all capable of, want to receive, and are worthy of love, and it is not in love’s nature to discriminate. #lovebythedrop
