Today I am thankful for strawberries. Is it just me, or do strawberries seem to pair perfectly with just about anything? I have had them in ice cream, smoothies, and in yogurt, as well as by themselves covered in chocolate, and, of course, au naturel. And one of my absolute all-time favorite ways to enjoy strawberries is straight from the freezer and dipped in sugar.
Every single way that I have had them they have been yummy. And apparently I am not the only one who appreciates these wonderful little gems of deliciousness, because there are websites dedicated to all things strawberry, fan clubs created in honor of strawberries, and states that have entire festivals dedicated to the celebration of strawberry wonderfulness.
In addition to general appreciation of strawberries, they are quite a healthy addition to any diet, especially when considering the fact that they are one of the highest sources of antioxidants, and there is even talk of strawberries possessing anti-inflammatory properties. Go figure! So, the next time that a ripe, full-bodied, curvaceous strawberry finds its way onto your plate, you just might want to give a little thanks for strawberries yourself and then dig right in. #lovebythedrop
