Today’s Gem of Gratitude #276

Today I am thankful for Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Anyone who knows me knows that when I am in the mood for doughnuts only a Krispy Kreme glazed doughnut will do – not jelly-filled, not sprinkle-covered, not cream-filled, simply glazed, and preferably hot and fresh off of the line. Why exactly do I prefer Krispy Kreme doughnuts? It has something to do with the way that they are so light and airy, yet covered in sugary glazed goodness. I have tried other types of doughnuts made by other companies, but no other doughnut has ever really been the right fit for me. I am not a fan of cake doughnuts, so that has eliminated many of the doughnuts that are out there from my consideration, and when it comes to glazed doughnuts, most other companies’ glazed doughnuts just taste like flavorless dough with watered down flaky icing on it, and I am definitely not a flavorless, watered down kind of a woman.

I do realize that everyone who likes doughnuts likely has his or her own favorite brand of doughnut though, and for some of you that brand may not be Krispy Kreme, which is cool. Like they say, “to each his own.” But for me, I am and always will be a Krispy Kreme kind of gal, and that’s fine with me. #lovebythedrop
