Today I am thankful for extra virgin olive oil. There are many reasons why I enjoy utilizing and appreciate extra virgin olive oil, including the fact that it imparts great flavor to the food items that you add it to, and it happens to be one of the oils that is considered to be healthy for people to consume, even though it does possess a significant level of fat content. It is perfect for use when creating vinaigrette dressings, it serves as a healthy yet flavorful base for marinades, and it even can be used to pop a serious batch of popcorn. Oh, yes, it certainly can. I promise you that I am definitely not kidding. And did I mention that it also functions as the perfect dipping sauce for bread? Just thinking about it makes my stomach growl.
In fact, is there anything that extra virgin olive oil is not good for? Hmmm, cleaning maybe, but then again I would not be surprised if someone has already found a way to make use of it in that regard as well. I will have to do some research on that. In the meantime, though, I will continue to discover different ways to accentuate the positive aspects of the meals that I prepare by finding new ways to introduce olive oil into their recipes. With olive oil being such a dynamic ingredient, how could I go wrong? #lovebythedrop
