Today I am thankful for preparation and the state of being prepared. I do not know about you, but I have experienced the occasional moment when I either needed to do something or a wonderful opportunity came my way but I was not prepared. Sure, like many of us, I did my best to wing it, and for the most part things turned out well. But I still could not help but wonder how much better things might have turned out had I been prepared.
Being prepared, whether for something known or unknown, gives me a sense of confidence, peace, and freedom that I generally do not experience when I am not prepared for something in advance. It alleviates that need to scramble and run around in order to try to figure out what needs to be done, and it also puts me in a better position to generate quality results.
Now, I know that there will be things that occur in life at random and out of the blue, and because of those circumstances I do not expect myself to be as fully prepared in those moments as I would have been had I known that that particular situation was going to occur. But in those situations I do still expect to be as prepared as I possibly can given the circumstances, because let’s face it, there are always things that we can do to be generally prepared for just about anything that can occur. And being prepared in that manner makes it possible for us to truly seize the day, instead of allowing the day to seize us. Here’s to being prepared! #lovebythedrop
