Today’s Gem of Gratitude #289


Today I am thankful for peppermint candies. Most of us probably primarily associate peppermint candies with their breath-freshening abilities, and I must say that I am certainly appreciative of that. Yet, there is so much more to peppermints than that. They are great for increasing your blood sugar level if it is low, not to mention the fact that they can also aid in digestion by helping to speed up that process. In addition, peppermint candies when crushed make tasty toppings for cookies, brownies, milkshakes, ice cream, cakes, and dare I say it, cheesecakes. And they can even make perfect gifts. After all, who does not like candy? Now, my absolute favorite way to enjoy peppermint candies is simply in their whole, hard candy form. And I like the soft and creamy ones too. The way that I look at it, there is just no way to go wrong when it comes to adding a little peppermint to your life; some cool, tingling refreshment can do us all a bit of good. #lovebythedrop
