Today I am thankful for fragrances. I have always been a lover of fragrances â perfumes, colognes, room deodorizers, you name it. And I have noticed that fragrances/scents have always found a way to stick with me. To this day I can catch a whiff of certain scents and instantly find myself immersed in a memory, be it the memory of my first kiss, my first job interview, as well as many other special occasions.
As a matter of fact, my ability to experience almost instantaneous recall of memories as a direct result of encountering a certain scent is so strong that I literally feel as though I have travelled back in time to whatever moment has somehow become permanently associated with that scent. In some ways it can be a very fascinating experience, in others it can be a bit of a jarring one. All in all though, it is a part of what makes me who I am, and for that I am grateful.
And of all of the scents that resonate with me, the scents that appear to have the strongest effect on me are colognes. There is something special about colognes that allows them to really develop a connection with me, one that lingers and is stronger than one would ever imagine could be possible. But then again, I guess that is why the manufacturers of colognes create them with the ingredients that they do via the methods that they utilize, so that they will have that precise effect on people, if at all possible. Well, whatever the reasoning is, colognes seem to love me, and I love them in return. #lovebythedrop
