Today I am thankful for office supplies. We all have our quirky things about us that serve to make us who we are. And as a person who has a huge appreciation for organization and orderliness, I have discovered quite a few things that are particular to who I am that are easily connected to my appreciation for that particular concept.
One such quirk is my appreciation for office supplies, and actually when I think about it is more than just an appreciation because I have specific preferences for certain types and brands of office supplies that have been in place for years and years, including pens, notebook paper, spiral notebooks, and tabs for my books. Yes, it is something that I am just that serious about. Now, by no means would I flip out if for some reason or another I did not have access to the brands and types of office supplies that I usually like to make use of, but if I have a choice between obtaining the brands and types that I usually prefer and acquiring other brands and types, I will certainly choose my usual brands and types, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. After all, there are specific reasons why I prefer them and those reasons typically did not develop through happenstance.
I have noticed that, even though I am known to embrace spontaneity on occasion, I am very much a creature of habit. I like things the way that I like them, and utilizing items with which I have developed a sense of comfort, appreciation, and connection, such as specific brands and types of office supplies, helps me to establish and maintain a greater sense of continuity and freedom from stress by helping me to foster what for me is an organized environment that is perfectly suited for me. #lovebythedrop
