Today I am thankful for endurance. Endurance, in many ways, is one of the key elements that separate those who accomplish the things that they need and want to accomplish in life from those who do not. Yes, a person often needs common sense, intelligence, determination, opportunities, resources, and the ability to be focused in order to accomplish things in life. But, in some instances, because of variables such as duration and the nature and amount of obstacles that a person may encounter, endurance is absolutely indispensable.
I am sure that we have all heard people referring to certain endeavors as being marathons rather than sprints, or some other phrase that is akin to that one. What is generally meant is that a person’s ability to hang in there for the long haul is oftentimes just as important as what a person does while hanging in there for the long haul. This concept is especially applicable to the pursuit of careers in medicine, law, and politics. It is also applicable to the participation in relationships of all kinds, as well as the taking on of huge projects such as having a house built.
No matter who you are, at some point in time you will find yourself smack dab in the middle of a situation in life that will require you to endure, and that may be the most challenging aspect of that situation. But no matter what comes your way, endurance is possible. It just takes commitment, effort, and determination. Are you ready? #lovebythedrop
